What the app reads

With your permission, Shway Shway reads this from Apple Health:

• Running workouts, to mark plan days as done and to show your runs in the app.
• Distance and heart rate from those runs, to show them in run details and to check that your slow runs were slow.
• Body weight, only if you ask for it in My Details, to fill in the weight field. You can type it yourself instead.

Access is read-only. Shway Shway never writes to Apple Health and never changes anything in it. The Apple Watch app reads running workouts recorded on your Watch, to show today as done.

What the app writes

With your permission, Shway Shway schedules each day's session in Apple's Workout app, so it appears on your Apple Watch. Ending or switching a plan removes those scheduled workouts. Apple's Workout app records the run itself, not Shway Shway.

What you type in

Your name, weight, units, race times and easy pace in My Details are all optional. Your plan choice, start date, running days, moves, Ready or Flat answers and progress rings are stored too.

Where it lives

Everything above is stored on your iPhone. Your iPhone sends your Apple Watch a small summary of the next seven days (the session for each day, and whether it is done) over Apple's own connection between the two devices, and your Watch keeps it so it can show today's session. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes its data. Your runs stay in Apple Health unless you delete them there.

What we don't do

• No accounts or sign-in.
• No servers: there is no Shway Shway backend to send anything to.
• No analytics, no crash-reporting service and no third-party code of our own. (If you turn on “Share with App Developers” in your iPhone's analytics settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. That is Apple's setting, not ours.)
• No tracking and no advertising.
• We never sell, rent or share your information, because we never receive it.

Purchases

Purchases, restores and offer codes are handled by Apple through the App Store. Shway Shway only learns which plans you own, from Apple, so it can unlock them. We never see your payment details or your Apple account. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple collects.

Your choices

• Turn Health access on or off at any time in Settings, then Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Shway Shway. The plan still works without it; days just won't turn green by themselves.
• Turn off the Workout permission in the Settings app. Shway Shway then can't schedule workouts.
• End your plan in Settings to remove its scheduled workouts, or delete the app to remove its data.

Children

Shway Shway collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
